What is Tokyo Daijingu like as a shrine?
Tokyo Daijingu was established in 1880 (Meiji 13) as a remote worship hall for Ise Jingu in Tokyo, following the decision of Emperor Meiji during the birth of the new Meiji-era nation.
Affectionately known as “Tokyo’s Ise Shrine,” Tokyo Daijingu enshrines Amaterasu Omikami and Toyouke Omikami, the deities of Ise Jingu’s Inner and Outer Shrines, as well as Yamatohime-no-mikoto.
It is also credited as the originator of Shinto-style wedding ceremonies, which are now widely practiced across Japan.

How to get to Tokyo Daijingu, is parking available, and is there a free shuttle bus service?
Tokyo Daijingu is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, at the address 2-4-1 Fujimi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
The nearest station is Iidabashi Station, which is served by the JR Chuo and Sobu Lines, the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho, Namboku, and Tozai Lines, as well as the Toei Subway Oedo Line. The shrine is about a 5-minute walk from the station.
There does not appear to be a free shuttle bus service from the station. Additionally, there is no dedicated parking lot, so public transportation is recommended.
